Welcome to Arizona!

I was happy enough to be wintering in Arizona. Even looking forward to working again and saving up a little money for the next adventure. I was planning excursions for my days off to places like Sedona. For the first time in many, many months I rented an apartment and worked 40 hours in a week.

For one week.

I think maybe the universe was trying to send me a message to never do that again. She definitely sent me a message that could not be ignored. That message came in the form of an abcess. Not just any abcess, but one that spread so rapidly that my right arm was rendered useless in less than 48 hours. One that took two antibiotic shots in the ass, 10 days of oral antibiotics, and six doctor’s appointments in a two-week period to get me on my feet again.

Oh, and a LOT of Vicodin. And crying. There was crying, and blood. And pus. Then the allergic reaction to the antibiotics: the fever and the hives.

I’m trying to see this as just another adventure, but it’s the kind of adventure I never want to go on again. And it’s the reason I haven’t blogged in almost a month.
