RR: The Time Paradox – Philip Zambardo & John Boyd

This book taught me SO MUCH about the way I am. I picked it up from a friend’s pile of books when she was moving. I am not a thinker-aheader. I’ve always known this about myself, but I’ve never really understood the flip side. Gave me a lot of insight about conversations I have with planners. MOM: “What are you going to do when this job ends?” ME: “I’ll figure out something else to do… once this job ends.” Internally: DUH! Why would I worry about not having a job when I do have a job? Turns out a lot of people plan things not only weeks in advance, but sometimes months and years! Turns out people like me end up in jail a lot because they don’t think about the long-term consequences of their actions. But also my people aren’t neurotic, worrying themselves sick about the future. These are my main take-aways from this book.
